Position Overview:

For the Label Manager position at Cheerful Music, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the UK office, including (but not limited to) identifying and driving business opportunities alongside our CEO, building and maintaining relationships with both the UK and CN teams, artists, producers, studios, distributor and all other external parties.

In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing all employee and HR matters including leading interviews, contracts, onboarding and KPI management.

Key Responsibilities:

Help to define development strategy, maintain existing partnerships and identify new partnership opportunities that can generate revenue for the business.

Build relationships and enhance the overall organisation’s culture, diversity and performance.

Oversee the day-to-day operation of not only the A&R and marketing teams, but also office administration, HR matters, onboarding new employees and providing training and supervision where necessary.

Track and monitor team member’s KPIs and overall progress.

Review and sign-off on all contracts, invoices and payments.

Take responsibility for the hiring and interview process for new team members.

Build strong working relationships with artist managers, colleagues and our stakeholders.

Report on business development activities and achievements to the head office.

Develop your own understanding and insights on Chinese music, art and culture and ways to introduce these into the western market (and vice versa with ways to provide a platform to western artists in China).

Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years’ of management experience in business development or partnerships in the relevant music, media, and /or entertainment industries.

A thorough understanding of the digital music distribution supply chain.

You are a natural multitasker where time management and prioritisation are second nature. You meet deadlines and your attention to detail is second to none.

You will be in tune with music culture, being able to spot and capitalise on upcoming trends (with both music and viral trends across all social media platforms)

You will be able to analyse data and generate concise reports to upper management.

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

You must be competent and efficient at using basic IT systems such as MS Office and Google Drive, in addition to industry-specific platforms and PROs (including but not limited to) Chart metric, DISCO, PRS, PPL and Spotify for Artists etc.

Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast paced, rapidly evolving environment.
