About Djoid

Djoid is a Berlin-based music curation platform built for professional DJs.
We are building the curation infrastructure for serious music curators, not DJ software for beginners, and not entertainment tools.

Instead of linear playlists, Djoid introduces visual, graph-based workflows and deep music models that help professionals understand, organize, and design music at scale.

Our focus is not “making DJing easier”, but raising the standard of music curation.

The Role

We are looking for a Curator-in-Residence to help define, articulate, and teach the philosophy of professional music curation around Djing with Djoid.

This is not a marketing role.
This is not an influencer role.

You will be the educational and cultural brand face and voice that explains how serious DJs think about music, preparation, and storytelling, with Djoid as the tool that supports that way of thinking.

You are not selling features.
You are setting standards.

What You’ll Do

1. Own the curation narrative

Define and articulate what “music curation” means at a professional level

Help shape how Djoid talks about preparation, flow, chapters, energy, and story-telling with music

Contribute to positioning Djoid as a school of thought, not just a tool

2. Record educational video content

Be the on-camera guide for:

Tutorials

Workflow walkthroughs

Concept explainers (e.g. preparing sets, building chapters, thinking in energy)

Speak calmly, precisely, and honestly, not salesy

Teach how DJs think, not just which buttons to click

3. Create editorial & long-form content

Contribute to or lead:

Blog articles

Guides

Essays

Case studies

Focus on depth, clarity, and usefulness, not SEO fluff

4. Support product & UX alignment

Work closely with the founder and product team

Ensure language, tutorials, and features align with real curation logic

Help prevent feature-driven messaging disconnected from actual DJ workflows

5. Represent the philosophy externally (selectively)

Collaborate with external educators or reviewers

Appear in interviews, panels, or educational content when relevant

Act as a credible reference point for the Djoid approach to curation

What This Role Is Not

❌ Not a growth marketer

❌ Not a social media manager

❌ Not an influencer or hype DJ

❌ Not a brand ambassador pushing talking points

This role exists to educate, not perform.

Who You Are

Must-have

10+ years experience as a DJ, music curator, or selector

Strong opinions about preparation, storytelling, and music flow

Comfortable explaining why things work, not just how

Calm, grounded presence on camera

Clear spoken English

Nice to have

Teaching, coaching, or workshop experience

Writing experience (articles, essays, guides)

Familiarity with DJ software ecosystems (Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, etc.)

Background in electronic music scenes (techno, house, related underground cultures)
