About the Role
Do you love making content as much as you love HOUSE? Are you equal parts storyteller, editor and scene-head? We’re Glasgow Underground, an independent, founder-owned label, and we’re expanding our in-house content output across both label and artist channels (Kevin McKay’s social media currently reaches 500k–1M monthly views). You’ll create scroll-stopping, story-led content that captures the energy of our artists, events and releases. This means shooting, editing and writing for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — and occasionally hitting the road to film when great moments happen. This is a full-time, London-based role. You must live in London or within one hour of our office in E8. Hybrid working (2–5 days on site) is available depending on performance. You’ll work closely with Kevin McKay and our small creative team to grow one of the UK’s most respected independent house labels.
About Glasgow Underground
Founded by Kevin McKay (DJ since 1990; producer since 1994), Glasgow Underground launched in 1997 and re-emerged in 2010. We’ve worked with Romanthony, Claptone, Westend and many more. Kevin also produced Mylo’s “Destroy Rock & Roll” (500k sales; five Top 40 singles). In 2024, we delivered one of the year’s biggest global dance records with “Buscando Money” — certified Gold in Italy and Double Platinum in Spain and Argentina. We’re a small, fast, close-knit team, where ideas move quickly and good creators get real ownership of their work.
What You’ll Do
• Create original content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
• Shoot & edit both short-form and long-form videos.
• Write strong hooks, captions and scripts that drive watch time and engagement.
• Collaborate with Kevin McKay and the marketing team on release campaigns.
• Report & analyse: track performance data and share insights weekly.
• Travel occasionally across the UK/EU to capture content at shows or shoots.
What You’ll Bring
• Strong experience creating engaging content across TikTok, YouTube and
Instagram.
• Video shooting and editing skills (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop or similar).
• Ability to craft platform-native edits (aspect ratios, pacing, captions, subtitles).
• Great eye for storytelling, timing and sound — understanding what makes content perform.
• Understanding of trends, algorithms, and analytics tools (e.g. IG Insights, YT Studio).
• Confident working independently, delivering to tight deadlines, and iterating on feedback.
• Passion for house music and club culture — you understand the vibe instinctively.
What We Offer
• £27,000–£30,000 salary (depending on experience).
• Creative autonomy and direct input into strategy and storytelling.
• Fast-moving environment where your ideas make an impact.
• Equipment and software budget (camera, lighting, editing tools as needed).
• Travel expenses for shoots and events.
• Hybrid working — 2–5 days in London office depending on performance.
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays (standard UK).
• Learning and development budget.
