About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated A&R & Business Development Intern to support our A&R team in artist discovery, outreach, and meeting coordination. This role is ideal for someone passionate about music, talent discovery, and the business side of the music industry. You will play a key role in identifying emerging and established artists, initiating contact, and scheduling meetings with the Director of A&R.
Key Responsibilities
• Discover and review music across platforms, with a strong focus on Spotify
• Identify artists with high monthly listeners, strong engagement, and growth potential
• Research artists, labels, and management teams to identify key decision-makers
• Conduct outreach via email and social media (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.)
• Initiate conversations with artists or their management to introduce the company
• Qualify interest and book meetings directly on the Director of A&R’s calendar
• Maintain organized records of outreach, responses, and scheduled meetings
• Track artist metrics (monthly listeners, playlist placements, social engagement)
• Support A&R and business development initiatives as needed
Qualifications
• Strong passion for music and artist development
• Familiarity with Spotify, social media platforms, and digital music trends
• Excellent written communication and professional outreach skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable conducting outreach and follow-ups independently
• Ability to research and analyze artist data and streaming metrics
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
• Prior experience in music, A&R, marketing, or business development is a plus (not required)
