Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Artist & Repertoire (A&R) Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for scouting, signing, and developing artists while collaborating closely with various departments to ensure the success of each project. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of music trends, excellent interpersonal skills, and a keen eye for emerging talent.
Key Responsibilities:
• Artist Discovery: Proactively scout for new talent through attending live performances, listening to demos, and engaging with industry contacts. Identify artists with unique potential that aligns with the label's artistic vision and target audience.
• A&R Management: Oversee the artist signing process from negotiation to contract finalization. Develop and maintain relationships with artists, managers, and other industry professionals. Provide guidance and support to artists throughout the recording, production, and promotion phases.
• Project Development: Collaborate with artists to conceptualize and develop their artistic vision, including song selection, production choices, and overall creative direction. Work closely with producers, engineers, and songwriters to ensure high-quality recordings that meet the label's standards.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed about current music trends, industry developments, and competitor activities. Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and challenges for artists. Provide strategic recommendations to optimize artist positioning and maximize commercial success.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with various internal departments, including marketing, publicity, sales, and distribution, to coordinate promotional campaigns, release strategies, and tour support. Serve as a bridge between artists and other team members to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals.
• Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. Monitor project expenses and revenue streams to optimize financial outcomes for both the artist and the label.
• Performance Evaluation: Track and analyze key performance metrics, including sales, streaming numbers, and audience engagement, to evaluate the success of artist projects. Provide feedback and recommendations for future improvement based on performance data.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in A&R, talent scouting, or artist management within the music industry.
• In-depth knowledge of various music genres, trends, and industry dynamics.
• Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with artists and industry professionals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Business suite and music industry software/tools.
• Passion for music and a genuine interest in supporting artists' creative endeavors.
