Mutual Friends is a music company (artist management and record label) based in New York City and Los Angeles. We’re passionate about building meaningful, long-term careers for artists and connecting them with their audiences in impactful ways. We specialize in marketing, branding, touring, social media, A&R, and many other verticals that help build well-rounded, established brands for our artists.
About the Internship
We’re looking for a spring intern to join our growing team at the intersection of artist development and digital strategy. This role is primarily focused on supporting our label and artist management initiatives.
If you’re proactive, organized, and deeply plugged into internet culture, new music, and emerging trends - this is a chance to make meaningful contributions across content, marketing, and creative campaigns.
Applicants must be eligible to receive college credit.
Responsibilities
• Assist in developing and executing social media strategies across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and more
• Support daily artist management tasks and release planning
• Help coordinate marketing campaigns and rollouts
• Design simple digital assets (Instagram stories, flyers, etc.)
• Support artist marketing initiatives with creative input and content execution.
• Edit and post short-form video content, digital flyers, and story assets
• Help ideate, storyboard, and schedule content for artist rollouts and label campaigns
• Conduct trend research, monitor platform analytics, and generate performance recaps
• Support release planning and digital distribution logistics
• Assist with artist and label calendar updates, tour prep, and campaign coordination
• Join brainstorms and contribute creative ideas for fan engagement and digital storytelling
Requirements
• Must be available to work 20 hours per week
• Must be eligible to receive college credit
• Experience with design tools (Photoshop, Canva, Figma) and video editing (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.)
• Comfortable with TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts content formats
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Deep interest in music, culture, and the digital creator economy
• A self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
