OVERVIEW
INFAMOUS PR is a global communications agency shaping cultural conversations around music, events, nightlife, and brands. We are seeking an Associate Music Publicist, US Events to support PR, media relations, creator campaigns, and creative partnership outreach across our roster of festivals and live events.
This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes music and festival culture, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants hands-on experience working across some of the most influential events in North America. You will contribute to overall press strategy, manage creator and partnership outreach, coordinate with internal and external artist teams, help run on-site media operations and logistics, and support national visibility for our festival clients.
This position reports to the VP, Events and Senior Publicist, Events.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
• 1-2 years of PR experience within music, entertainment, live events, or culture (agency experience preferred)
• On-site music event or festival experience 
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills
• Exceptional writing abilities for pitches, press releases, strategic notes, and recaps
• Strong communication skills (verbal + written)
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple timelines and shifting priorities
• Fluency in AI tools ie ChatGPT
• Proficiency with Slack, Asana, Mailchimp, and Google Workspace
• Deep understanding of electronic music, festivals, nightlife, and the dance music media landscape
• Ability to maintain professionalism around high-profile clients, artists, and partners
• Knowledge of dance music editorial outlets and regional music publications preferred
CAMPAIGN EXECUTION
• Lead artist outreach across festival lineups, coordinating interviews, editorial opportunities, mix series, exclusive playlists and playlist takeovers, multi-artist features, and social content initiatives
• Manage audio recording distribution programs, including approvals and delivery (e.g., Apple Music DJ Mixes)
• Pitch and secure media coverage across dance music editorial outlets
• Pitch and secure pre-promotional driven activity including but not limited to online / social giveaways, event and artist previews, and other creative previews tied to the specific client’s themes and ethos
• Manage commercial and college radio relations by market, including ticket giveaways, interviews, mixes, and in-studio visits
• Distribute all hard news announcements—lineup announcements, partner news, and key marketing moments—to relevant press verticals
• Lead outbound outreach, research, negotiations, and coverage tracking for the Creator Program, with direction and oversight from Senior Publicist and VP of Events
• Conduct creative partnership outreach to brands, local businesses, hospitality partners, nightlife collectives, and cultural organizations to drive promotional opportunities
• Support on-site festival press operations, including interview coordination, creator and media hosting, and partnership initiatives
ADMINISTRATIVE & CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee campaign planners, media grids, tracking sheets, and client-ready reporting
• Manage press lists, approvals/denials, credential
• allocation, advancing, and all festival press logistics
• Draft meeting agendas, take detailed notes on all client calls, and deliver clear action items
• Maintain shared databases across media, creators, focus markets, and cultural partnerships
• Handle Mailchimp distribution for announcements, media alert blasts, segmentation, and audience management
• Keep internal workflow documents updated in real time across all active campaigns
• Support cross-division communication to ensure deliverables and timelines remain aligned
CREATOR PROGRAM
• Lead all outreach, research, coverage and exchange negotiations, coverage tracking, and deliverable management
• Identify content creators across lifestyle, nightlife, music, fashion, travel, and other key verticals as determined by client need, as well as key regional markets
• Work with VP and Senior Publicist to shape strategic creator approaches and overall campaign structure
• Ensure creators receive briefs, credentials, timelines, deliverables guidance, and necessary assets
• Track creator coverage and compile post-campaign reporting
CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP OUTREACH
• Identify and pitch local businesses, hospitality partners, nightlife collectives, and community organizations for promotional opportunities
• Build culture-forward partnership concepts including co-branded content, curated experiences, retail tie-ins, product seeding, giveaways, and digital storytelling
• Develop partnership briefs and assist in negotiating deliverables, coverage expectations, and mutual promotional value with support from VP and Senior Publicist
ON-SITE FESTIVAL PRESS SUPPORT
• Execute on-the-ground press operations including interviews, creator management, media escorting, and opportunity coordination
• Facilitate real-time content and social takeovers
• Represent INFAMOUS as an external-facing lead at festivals and industry events
OPERATIONS & CULTURE
• Contribute ideas in team brainstorms and support creative growth within the Events division
• Participate in weekly team meetings and cross-division coordination
• Assist with training and supporting interns within the division
• Represent INFAMOUS at relevant industry events, shows, festivals, and cultural gatherings
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• $50,000-$55,000 annual salary range
• 401(k) with 4% match (after 3 months)
