Mission of the Role
Lead the digital marketing vision and audience growth strategy across the Back Blocks roster. Drive fan acquisition, engagement, and revenue through innovative marketing campaigns, content strategy, platform partnerships, artist development, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Leadership
• Own the end-to-end marketing strategy for artist releases, album campaigns, tours, merchandise initiatives, and major career milestones.
• Develop long-term artist growth plans aligned with business objectives and audience development goals.
• Create integrated marketing campaigns spanning social, DSPs, influencer marketing, paid media, PR, partnerships, experiential activations, and fan engagement.
• Identify creative opportunities to generate cultural moments, earned media, and viral fan interaction.
• Manage campaign timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication from concept through execution.
Artist Development & Audience Growth
• Partner directly with artists, label partners, and internal teams to shape artist brands and audience positioning.
• Develop fan acquisition and retention strategies across social platforms, streaming platforms, email, SMS, and community channels.
• Build scalable fan engagement programs, including fan clubs, text programs, subscriber communities, contests, and experiential campaigns.
• Analyze audience behavior and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Management
• Lead and mentor the Digital Marketing Coordinator, intern, and external marketing partners.
• Establish team priorities, workflows, and performance expectations.
• Facilitate weekly marketing meetings, campaign reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
• Serve as the primary marketing liaison between artists, label partners, PR, creative teams, DSPs, and external vendors.
Content Strategy & Creative Direction
• Lead content strategy across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
• Develop content frameworks, creative concepts, storytelling initiatives, and platform-specific campaigns.
• Direct content capture opportunities, shot lists, creator partnerships, and content production workflows.
• Approve content calendars, creative assets, copy, and campaign messaging.
• Guide overall artist brand voice, visual identity, and audience-facing communications.
Streaming & Platform Marketing
• Oversee artist presence across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube, and emerging DSPs.
• Manage release marketing initiatives including pre-saves, DSP pitching, profile optimization, playlist strategy, and platform-specific activations.
• Maintain relationships with DSP representatives and platform partners.
• Monitor performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations based on audience and streaming data.
Digital Ecosystem Management
• Oversee artist websites, ecommerce integrations, smart links, fan data collection, and CRM initiatives.
• Manage email and SMS marketing programs to support audience growth and revenue generation.
• Ensure all artist-facing digital properties remain optimized, current, and conversion-focused.
Influencer Marketing & Partnerships
• Develop creator marketing campaigns and influencer partnerships to support releases and artist growth.
• Identify and negotiate brand partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, and collaborative campaigns.
• Maintain relationships with platform representatives, agency partners, and strategic collaborators.
• Execute innovative fan-facing activations that strengthen artist communities and expand reach.
Analytics, Reporting & Business Impact
• Establish KPIs across social growth, streaming performance, audience engagement, ticket sales, merchandise sales, and fan acquisition.
• Deliver campaign reporting and strategic recommendations to artists, management, and executive leadership.
• Use performance data to inform future marketing investments and campaign direction.
• Stay ahead of platform trends, audience behaviors, and industry best practices.
