**JOB TITLE: **Entertainment Attorney, Client & Procurement Relations
**JOB SUMMARY: **Lead and oversee contracting, legal review, and approval processes related to certain talent bookings and client engagements, ensuring accuracy, risk mitigation, and alignment with JSP standards and business goals.
Serve as JSP’s primary in-house legal counsel and contracts authority, with regard to buyer approval forms, talent offer forms, long-form client contracts, and talent agreements.
Act as a strategic partner to the Creative Team, shepherding new opportunities from negotiation to agreement and contract phases, ensuring offers are structured thoughtfully, compliantly, and efficiently through the pipeline.
Function as one of the company’s key client-facing liaisons during the contracting and approval phase, maintaining continuity with clients, agencies, and procurement teams while strategically positioning JSP’s role, responsibilities, and risk posture within each agreement.
Balance relationship stewardship with deal strategy, helping determine what JSP can reasonably absorb, where to push back, and how to structure terms that protect the company while supporting long-term client/talent relationships and successful event outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contracts & Legal Oversight
• Review, negotiate, and approve buyer approval forms, talent offer forms, long-form client contracts, and talent contracts.
• Serve as JSP’s go-to in-house counsel on contract terms, risk assessment, and legal considerations related to entertainment bookings, while applying strategic judgment as necessary to move agreements forward. beyond legal compliance.
• Establish, review, and maintain contract standards, templates, playbooks, and best practices across all deal types.
• Identify and flag non-standard or high-risk terms, and advise teams on recommended approaches and strategic solutions.
Client/Talent Services & Deal Shepherding
• Partner closely with the Creative Team, serving as Account Manager during the negotiation and contract execution phases, particularly for opportunities nearing confirmation. Shaping deal structure, risk allocation, and positioning from both an event-strategy and legal perspective.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and agencies during the contracting and approval phase.
• Ensure clarity, momentum, and alignment between client expectations, creative intent, and contractual realities.
• Manage handoff to Production team once buyer approval and contracts are fully executed.
Procurement & Partner Relations
• Work directly with client procurement, legal, and compliance teams to facilitate approvals and align on contracting requirements.
• Navigate corporate procurement processes while protecting JSP’s business interests and deal integrity.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with repeat corporate clients and partner organizations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Collaborate with Creative, Operations, Production, Finance, and Executive Teams to ensure seamless deal execution.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract processes, timelines, and risk awareness.
• Support the continued evolution of JSP’s internal systems and workflows related to contracting and approvals.
**HR & Internal Advisory **
• Provide light HR-related guidance and best-practice input as needed (policies, compliance considerations, employee matters).
• Partner with leadership on internal documentation and process development where legal or HR insight is beneficial.
Qualifications & Experience
• JD required; active bar membership preferred.
• Experience in entertainment law, talent booking, agency representation, or corporate contracting.
• Strong understanding of talent agreements, corporate event contracts, and entertainment-industry deal structures.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, client & talent-facing environment with multiple concurrent deals.
• Excellent communicator who can balance legal rigor with practical business solutions.
• Experience working with corporate procurement teams is a strong plus.
• HR knowledge or experience is a plus.
