Double Jack

Head of Marketing & Communications

Full time

Remote • Paris, France

Category: Artist/Label Services

About Us

Double Jack is a Paris-based early-stage video game studio at the intersection of music and interactive entertainment. We build Maestro, an award winning experience where gameplay and sound are inseparable — where the music isn't just a backdrop, it *is the game. Backed by a passionate founding team, we're growing fast and looking for bold, creative people to help us build something the world has never seen.

The Role

We're looking for our first Head of Marketing & Communications — a hands-on, visionary leader who will build our brand from the ground up. You'll own the full marketing and communications function: from crafting our story and growing our community, to forging partnerships with artists and labels, to getting us covered in the press that matters.
This is a founding-level role. You'll work directly with the CEO and product team, shape our go-to-market strategy, and hire and scale a team around you as we grow. If you thrive in ambiguity, love music, and know how to build audiences with limited resources, this role is for you.

What You'll Own

Community Building
•  Design and execute a community strategy across Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and beyond
•  Build authentic, long-term relationships with our early adopters, superfans, and creator community
•  Develop programs (betas, creator collaborations, AMAs, events) that turn players into advocates
•  Define our brand voice and ensure it resonates across every touchpoin
Artist & Label Partnerships
•  Identify, pitch, and close partnerships with independent artists, music labels, and music platforms
•  Develop co-marketing frameworks that create value for both artists and our player community
•  Act as the primary relationship owner for all music industry stakeholders
•  Stay plugged into the music ecosystem — festivals, releases, trends — to find partnership moments
PR & Press
•  Build relationships with journalists and editors across gaming, music, and tech media
•  Own our press strategy: launch moments, feature placements, product announcements, and crisis comms
•  Write and review press releases, pitches, and media briefs
•  Manage any PR agency relationships as needed
Digital & Social Media
•  Lead our content and social media strategy across all channels
•  Manage or oversee content creation: video, copy, visuals, and audio-forward formats
•  Track and report on performance metrics; iterate quickly based on data
•  Oversee paid social and digital advertising campaigns

What We're Looking For

•  6–10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand — ideally spanning both gaming and music
•  Proven track record building audiences and brand presence for an early-stage or indie product
•  Deep knowledge of the music industry: how labels work, how artists think, what makes partnerships succeed
•  Strong writer and storyteller — you can craft a pitch, a tweet thread, and a press release with equal fluency
•  Data-informed but creatively driven: you use metrics to make decisions, not to replace instincts
•  Comfortable being a generalist and rolling up your sleeves — this is a scrappy, hands-on role at first
•  Genuine passion for music and games, ideally both
Nice to have:
•  Experience with rhythm games, music discovery platforms, or music-tech products
•  An existing network in the music industry (artists, managers, labels, sync agents)
•  Experience hiring and managing a small marketing team
