Venue Coalition is a booking representation and advocacy organization serving more than 100 sports and entertainment arenas, stadiums, and theaters across North America. Venue Coalition supports its members through event booking, talent buying, and the collection and distribution of critical industry intelligence, helping venues identify opportunities and operate more efficiently in the touring marketplace.
Job Description:
This position supports a network of more than 100 venue members. The role will focus on booking events while working closely with venues, agents, promoters, and producers to identify opportunities and advocate for national and regional touring artists to perform at member venues where it makes the most strategic sense.
The position will also be responsible for gathering, summarizing, and distributing booking opportunities and industry information to member venues and relevant industry partners.
Qualified candidates should be capable of independently booking events and developing and executing national and regional booking strategies, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the live event industry and share our commitment to supporting the needs of both our venue members and the touring community.
Impact of the Role:
This role sits at the center of the live touring ecosystem, helping shape booking opportunities for arenas, theaters, and stadiums across North America. The position works directly with responsible and territorial agents, exclusive and non-exclusive promoters, tour producers, managers and venue partners to identify touring opportunities and advocate for Venue Coalition members in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Responsibilities:
Account & Relationship Management
• Serve as a primary booking representative for Venue Coalition member venues.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with venue executives, buyers, and programming teams, ensuring members receive consistent support and advocacy.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with agents, promoters, producers, and other content providers across the touring industry.
• Support select high-level venue accounts and private/corporate clients as needed.
Booking Strategy & Event Development
• Identify and develop national, regional, group, and one-off booking opportunities for Venue Coalition member venues.
• Coordinate event opportunities including national tours, regional tours, rentals, co-promotions, and direct buys.
• Prepare and submit talent offers and event budgets, while negotiating deal terms with agents, promoters, and venues.
• Advocate for Venue Coalition venues to ensure they are considered for touring opportunities where they are the best market fit.
Industry Intelligence & Operations
• Conduct ongoing research and outreach to identify emerging tours, talent, and booking opportunities for Venue Coalition members.
• Work with venue teams to collect, organize, and distribute booking information and opportunities across the network.
• Maintain booking calendars, spreadsheets, and internal databases tracking touring opportunities and event activity.
• Participate in industry conferences, meetings, and events to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
**Required Qualifications: **
• 5–10+ years of experience in national booking at an agency, promoter, venue, or similar organization within the live entertainment industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and industry partners.
• Self-motivated with the ability to identify and cultivate new relationships and business opportunities.
• High level of technical proficiency and comfort working with various software platforms and database systems, including AI tools such as ChatGPT and similar platforms, to improve research, generate ideas, organize industry information, and enhance communication across the Venue Coalition network.
• Comfortable experimenting with new tools and sharing insights with the team to help improve workflows, booking strategies, and information distribution as the organization evolves.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Availability to work evenings or weekends as needed to support clients and team initiatives.
• Ability to attend industry conferences and events as required.
