Job Title: UK Indirect Tax Director (14 Month FTC)

**About our team: **

The Tax Department is responsible for the Warner Music Group tax reporting, tax compliance and tax advisory around the world. 
The Indirect Tax Lead is on parental leave and we are recruiting an experienced indirect tax specialist to cover their role and responsibilities for this period. 
The business is in the middle of a finance transformation project including the implementation of a new ERP system (S4) and an indirect tax compliance solution for indirect tax determination and compliance preparation (OneSource). There are dedicated resources managing this implementation and a Shared Service Centre onboarding the BAU compliance processes but this role is expected to support both teams with UK VAT returns. 

Here you’ll get to:

⦁    Lead Warner Music Group on all aspects of indirect tax and report to VP, Tax (UK) 
⦁    Coordinate and review the preparation of all material UK VAT returns including a large UK VAT group
⦁    Support UK Shared Service Centre VAT compliance team (UK) on technical VAT advisory and controversy matters (UK and international) as well as advise on best practice in relation to governance and indirect tax compliance processes  
⦁    Work closely with Finance, Legal and Commercial teams to provide timely and informed responses to indirect tax questions in the business (UK and international) and on a wide range of topics (goods, services, intercompany transactions, etc.)
⦁    Support broader Tax team on indirect tax awareness and collaborating with the Tax team to deliver cross-tax advice to the business
⦁    Technical VAT advisory support to teams managing the international finance transformation (ERP and tax engine implementation) 
⦁    Recommend, edit and review of contractual documentation for legal drafting
⦁    Engage with advisors in various territories
⦁    Supervise and analyse existing and proposed regulatory changes and developments related to UK and global tax and advise on potential business impact
⦁    Assist with global M&A activity, where required

About you:

⦁    10+ years of prior relevant UK tax experience with a large public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation, in-house experience at a large MNE highly preferable 
⦁    Strong UK and international indirect tax knowledge and understanding of their impact on VAT compliance and reporting processes
⦁    Experience with finance transformation / tax engine implementation projects ideal but not essential
⦁    Strong Excel and Word skills
⦁    Excellent written & oral communication and experience with briefing senior stakeholders on key indirect tax concepts
⦁    Analytical experience, running information and presenting appropriate recommendations
⦁    Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and partners
⦁    Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
