The role
This position sits across two core areas: nurturing and developing existing artists on the ACTS distribution roster, and actively finding and signing new artists and labels to join it.
Beyond distribution, you'll work closely with the artists signed directly to our label and management roster. You'll spend more time out with artists than you will behind a desk. On the road, in the room, part of the process.
Reporting direct to the CEO, you'll also be a regular presence in DSP meetings, keeping key platform partners across what's coming from our roster and making sure releases are set up for every opportunity available to them. Day to day it's a mix of scouting, signing, reporting, release setup, artist relations, and international travel. You'll need to be the kind of person who can go somewhere alone and come back with results.
Who we are
At ACTS, nobody is above the work. Our entire team operates at ground level, alongside artists, not above them. We don't manage from a distance and we don't hide behind titles. If that's how you already move, you'll fit right in.
What we're looking for
• Real experience in the music industry. Distribution, A&R, label management, touring, or similar. You need to be able to relate to the artists and industry people you'll be working with every day
• A genuine ear for music and an eye for artists worth signing
• Existing relationships with DSPs or a strong understanding of how they operate
• Comfortable across release workflows, metadata, scheduling, pitching, reporting
• Strong communicator. Equally at home in a DSP boardroom and on the road with an artist
• Self sufficient and hungry. You don't need someone looking over your shoulder to get things done
• Based in Melbourne is preferred
• Willing and able to travel internationally, including with artists
