Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for general ledger activities, month-end close, and accounts receivable functions, including billing, cash application, and customer account reconciliation. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, hands-on AR experience, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with GAAP
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries
Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Generate and review customer invoices for accuracy and timeliness
• Apply customer payments and reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
• Assist with credit memos, refunds, and write-offs as needed
Additional Duties
• Support accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed
• Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis
• Participate in process improvement and documentation efforts
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of general accounting experience, including hands-on AR experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment
• Prior involvement in audits or month-end close ownership
• Excellent communication skills for internal and customer-facing interactions
