Opportunity Overview
Mick Management is looking for an experienced and dynamic Tour Marketing Director to join our Touring Department. As a key player in global touring strategy, tour marketing, and ticketing, you will contribute to the growth and success of our artists in the touring space. We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of rolling out national tours from clubs to arenas that has experience in digital marketing and putting live music at the forefront of conversation online. This role requires an understanding of the live music space with at least six years of work experience beyond internships. For the true touring enthusiast, this role offers a unique opportunity to sit at the epicenter of the music business. You'll interact with a diverse range of global stakeholders, from artists and managers to agents, promoters, labels, and beyond. This role will be based in our offices in Los Angeles.
Four days of mandatory attendance in the office Monday through Thursday.
How You'll Contribute
Your role will be pivotal in shaping the touring experiences of our artists. As the Tour Marketing Director, you'll be at the forefront of managing marketing and ticketing strategies for established artists ranging from the club to large theater and arena level. Your creativity will play a key role in maximizing marketing impact, ticket revenue, fan club ticketing, VIP experiences, and more. You'll collaborate closely with artists and their teams, bringing innovative ideas to life while also demonstrating analytical prowess in optimizing data, ticketing, and revenue. Your marketing expertise will give our campaigns the best chance for success both from the creative side and the analytical side. Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to succeeding in this role.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Tour Marketing Coordinator on executing tour announcements and marketing strategies.
• Work closely with the entire internal shared services team and management teams on everything from tour routing strategies to marketing, ticketing, and key social media strategies.
• Ideate and collaborate on digital marketing campaigns that put our artists' tours at the forefront of conversation online.
• Ensure all external partners are on track to execute the tour marketing plan on a national/global level including promoters, agents, radio teams, label partners, VIP providers and more.
• Execute local tour marketing plans by collecting, tracking, and reviewing all promotional and ticketing elements such as ad spends, radio proposals, localized artwork, ticket links and audits, and oversee execution of tour specific social media strategy alongside our internal social media team.
• Maintain relationships with promoters by having ongoing conversations about creative marketing initiatives: provide updated press, social posts, refreshed assets, and provide general support for all marketing and ticketing efforts.
• Input touring data into tour marketing grids for the respective tours which you lead
• Manage guest lists and serve as on-site contact for key shows. In certain scenarios this will require travel.
• Build detailed reports using ticket sales, consumption, and social engagement data.
• Develop a network within the touring community to deepen your knowledge of the space.
Requirements
• Minimum of 6 years of experience with proven track record in tour marketing, digital marketing, live entertainment, and/or artist management.
• Expertise with Excel and Google Suite is a must
• A deep understanding of digital marketing, staying at the forefront of effective digital marketing strategies, platforms, and trends.
• Highly organized, proactive, self-starter that can work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to confidently manage, execute, and delegate complex project details and tasks
• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Must be comfortable on the phone and Zoom and must also have experience with speaking in large group settings.
• Due to the global nature of this role, flexibility to work across time zones is required.
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Positive team player who is curious and likes to learn
• Knowledge of the mechanics of the music industry and a passion for live music
• Demonstrate expertise in touring software and technology including but not limited to TM1, Master Tour, and more.
